GYNAECOLOGICAL CANCER

Gynaecologic cancers require meticulous surgical staging and tumour removal for optimal outcomes. We offer comprehensive surgical care for cancers affecting the female reproductive system.

CANCERS TREATED

  • Ovarian cancer
  • Endometrial (uterine) cancer
  • Cervical cancer
  • Vulvar cancer
  • Vaginal cancer

OVARIAN CANCER SURGERY

Ovarian cancer often requires extensive surgical staging and cytoreduction.

Procedures Include:

  • Total abdominal hysterectomy
  • Bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy
  • Omentectomy
  • Peritoneal biopsies
  • Lymph node sampling
  • Cytoreductive (debulking) surgery

Goal: Achieve optimal cytoreduction (no visible residual disease), which significantly improves survival outcomes.

In advanced cases, interval debulking after neoadjuvant chemotherapy may be advised.

ENDOMETRIAL (UTERINE) CANCER SURGERY

Standard treatment typically includes:

  • Total hysterectomy
  • Bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy
  • Sentinel lymph node mapping or      lymphadenectomy

Minimally invasive laparoscopic or robotic approaches are used whenever appropriate to ensure:

  • Faster recovery
  • Reduced blood loss

Shorter hospital stay!

CERVICAL CANCER SURGERY

Treatment depends on stage and fertility considerations.

Options Include:

  • Radical hysterectomy
  • Pelvic lymph node dissection
  • Fertility-preserving radical      trachelectomy (in select early-stage patients)

Early-stage disease may be managed surgically, while advanced stages often require combined chemoradiation.

FERTILITY-SPARING CANCER SURGERY

For young patients wishing to preserve fertility, carefully selected procedures may include:

  • Radical trachelectomy (cervical      cancer)
  • Unilateral oophorectomy (early      ovarian tumours)
  • Ovarian transposition prior to      radiation

Each case is evaluated thoroughly to balance oncologic safety with reproductive goals.

MINIMALLY INVASIVE & ROBOTIC SURGERY

Whenever feasible, laparoscopic or robotic-assisted techniques are utilized to provide:

  • Smaller incisions
  • Less post-operative pain
  • Faster return to daily activities
  • Reduced hospital stay

Improved cosmetic outcomes.
